It's a gay world

Ok..so watching the movie, Monster in Law, there are quite a few gay references, i.e. "I'm not gay" or "too bad he's gay"..etc, lines and things like that. It also had a "gay best friend" character. It wasn't offensive, but got me wondering..do straight people get that obsessed with who's gay and who's not? Does the straight world really focus on that? Interesting concept I guess.

I also notice what a great big gay world there is by going out to a gay bar. Seems like there is always a great cross section of types of gay people at a bar...no matter what kind of bar it is..just an observation.

This is a journal I guess

Part of thinking about this blog is to make it something..a journal, a place to vent, a place to explore, or just an account of my life, maybe something interesting will come of it..

So, in the vain of "just an account of my life" I guess I will start with this post.

Today was a good day. We started with trying to figure our finances, that is always fun. One chore we enjoy that is truely fun is giving the dogs a bath. We have a pretty good set up, but they hate it. Oh but do they look good and smell nice now. When the climb into my side of the bed, I don't have to worry about the dirt in the bed :)

We also went to a friend's art studio to an opening he was having. John and Joe are turning into good friends, fun to be around since we are getting to know Joe better. They are the kind of friends you like having. They are genuinely interested in us, and like us too (Sally Field moment..)

That's it for today, will be keeping it up...

to blog or not to blog

I read a few on line "journals" and notice how they post, for the most part every day. I guess once you know someone you want to keep up like a daily phone call. So now I have to decide if I want to post everyday, and just what kind of committment that requires. I guess I could take some time out during the day at work to jot a couple of things down then transfer...I'll give that a shot. Topic for my first take on that will be about me and my partner I guess...he challenges me almost everyday, sometimes in a good way and sometimes not.

I can almost keep this thing short or long. Depends on the mood. I do keep a "cancer" journal, and add to it occassionally. Every now and then I read it and it still seems relevant. Ya know how sometimes you look back and think, "boy was that silly/stupid.." or "it sounded like a good idea at the time"....well that journal doesn't fell like that at all. We will see if that stands the test of time...it was started about a year and a half ago. My cancer will be another post. It's called leiomyosarcoma...if you care to look it up. The pic of me is when I lost my hair. I have always wanted to see how my head would looked shaved...well not finding out this way though...

back to this

I am just getting the hang of this and probably need to spend more time on "perfecting" the blog world....It's funny but it's like the first time I discovered the internet. I remember looking at web pages, going to the links, and checking out a few, only to be sucked into the links on THAT page...and before you know it, can't remember where I started. I read a few online journals, and have found some just be checking out that bloggers friends' journals. Now I have bookmarked about 10 blogs I regularly check out. I don't quite understand if anyone will ever get to see this, or how to make my self known to the world. I guess trial and error.

Had a good day today, rode the bike about 12 miles with my partner and a friend....it was a good day

A few random thoughts

I know I haven't been updating this alot lately, but have a few random thoughts, some associated with all the news lately..

How many times do we need to have the "New Orleans is shaped like a bowl below sea level" newscast? Is it too difficult for the American public to understand this concept that water seeks the lowest level? Where were you people in science class in grade school? Just a rant...

I like keeping up with a few blogs on line, but feel like I am on the outside...and it seems that all these bloggers I watch and read know each other....how do I get in that inner circle? It also seems that you need to have somewhat computer skills to make make it work and be more interesting. I will have to do more research.

I was able to work in a "Futurama" reference at work to my boss today...that is always fun...I'll have to try getting a Family Guy reference in my staff meeting tomorrow...

Me and the boys...

A little about me

Well since I started this, I guess I need to see how it goes. Not sure how people will see this unless they stumble on it...oh well... I live in Denver..actually in a suburb called Parker. Not bad but we need to be back in the city..WE: me and my partner, Phillip, together 8 years now.

I hope this gets more interesting for you, the reader, and will get to know me. I will keep up with this about my life and going ons. Oh..the name refers to the two dogs we have: Zach and Alex. As soon as I know how to format and customize this..

later!

ok...just a few observations...WHY is Pier 1 having a Back To School sale? Really, now, you can go back to class without that wicker basket...

Also, why does the Dukes of Hazard movie get to be shown on Denver's biggest screen? There is one here in town that is the biggest screen and on the marquee it actually says: The Big Screen: Dukes of Hazard. That really says alot to me about society.

obviously, a light day

Space shuttle

no disrespect but I have some comments on the space shuttle....I wanted to be an astronaut when I was a kid, like every other American baby bommer kid. Since the Columbia disaster, they outfitted the launch and the shuttle with a lot-I forget how many-cameras to watch everything on the flight. Since this is the first time they have done this, don't you think that some of the stuff that fell off on this one, fell off the other flights, but weren't noticed?

Just a thought....

New blogger

I guess alot of people start blogging for some reason. I came across Bob Mould's blog and really got into reading it. I like his music, mostly from the Sugar era, and his new recent album. Plus, I read somewhere that he is gay, like me and I thought that was interesting. My secret mission in life is to see if he has or is posted on a gay site somewhere...but that's for a rainy day

I am still trying to see if this is going to fun and additive or I would get bored with it. I am also not very tech savvy so I can't make any promises on how this will work. Then again, not sure how people will find this and if they will actually read it. When you come to think about it, all the people doing this, it seems impossible that people will find this little journal...we will see.

first bite

Just getting started..stay tuned
